Ridge Vineyards - New Releases

Get Ready for Ridge - New Releases

Perennially popular, Ridge Vineyards' new releases impressed at the showcase tasting in London (March 2026)

'With a cult following, Ridge wines generally sell out long before the next vintage is available and keen fans will know that early opportunities to buy generally need to be seized upon', says Rebecca Gray who attended the portfolio tasting in London last week.

Rebecca writes: It is said that consumers will often fall into the Lytton Springs or Geyserville camp and with this in mind it was a great privilege to taste the two side by side and learn that, although it is a close-run contest, I belong to the Lytton Springs appreciation club. My notes on all the wines I tried - and that we now have available to buy online - are below...

Please note - these wines are sold by the case (or bottle if in 3L size) and under bond, meaning that the duty and VAT will be payable once the wines arrive in the country, which is estimated to be in September 2026. Under bond storage options are available.

Lytton Springs

The Lytton Springs 2024 was beautifully perfumed and aromatic with a real hit of cloves and nutmeg on the nose. With bags of ripe dark berry fruit on the palate, I found the flavour profile utterly delightful and the grippy finish, perfectly balanced. The Lytton Springs 2023 was my highlight of the tasting with my notes simply stating “utterly delightful” – I was thrilled to return to the store to find that we still had a small number of bottles left!

Geyserville

The Geyserville 2024 was also delicious with its generous red-berry fruit and cherry drop vibes. Known for being more approachable as a young wine than the Geyserville, the structure from the refreshing acidity and ripe, supple tannins and its divine, long finish make this wine an utter joy. As an intriguing aside, having labelled the wine “Geyserville” for 58 vintages, the labelling authorities have now deemed it to be misleading as there is a nearby town named Geyserville; consequently Ridge have had to label this most recent vintage as “Geyserville Vineyard”.

Three Valleys

Twenty four separate blocks across 10 vineyards are vinified separately and tasted. Three Valleys is produced from the wines that don’t quite make the grade for their single vineyard wines. Be under no illusion though, this is still a fantastic wine with the 2024 offering up herbaceous, leafy notes, cassis and violets with refreshing acidity and satisfying grippy-ness. A very approachable wine that is drinking beautifully now and will continue to flourish for at least the next five years.

Estate Cabernet Sauvignon

Ridge Estate Cabernet Sauvignon 2023 is laden with blackberry fruit, sweet vanilla spice and seductive mocha notes. This is a very juicy wine with excellent freshness and big, supple tannins. As a cooler vintage, the grapes benefitted from a greater hang time and slower maturation than in the warmer years. It would benefit from a couple of years of extra ageing to allow the vanilla notes of the American oak to harmonise and could be very happily enjoyed over the next 10-15 years.

Estate Chardonnay

As a total sucker for Californian Chardonnay, I immensely enjoyed the Ridge Estate Cabernet Sauvignon 2024 with its beautifully stone fruit driven nose and the nectarine fruit, chalky minerality and beeswax and caramel notes on the palate. This wine has great depth of flavour and will be drinking well over the next five or so years.

Grenache Blanc

The Grenache Blanc has been receiving rave reviews and having tasted the 2024, I can understand why. It has a wonderful texture, with a minerally feel. Pear, fresh mint, hints of hazelnut – this wine has great complexity. The 12% Picpoul from the warm Paso Robles region successfully retains freshness in this blend.
