Pinot Noir
75cl * 12.5% ABV * Touraine, Val de Loire, France
This is a wonderfully light Pinot Noir and typical of the more northerly Pinot Noirs of the Touraine and Upper Loire regions. Guy Allion have aged the wine for 8 months, enough to smooth the edges and impart a little toast from the oak, which were third use French oak barrels. As a result the wine is fruit forward, meaning that its deliciously aromatic and juicy. Red cherries and strawberries abound, its time in oak mainly helping to integrate both tannins and acidity, which are well balanced. Cherry, Strawberry and a hint of cinnamon on the palate.
Food pairing: feathered game, wild boar, Val de Loire cheeses, mushroom dishes.
