Chateau Lagrange has established itself firmly among the most respected in the Médoc. Following significant investment into the estate in the 1980s, the wines have often surpassed its official Third Growth status.
Its vineyard, spanning over 289 acres, is the largest single parcel among the other classed growths, allowing for consistently exceptional quality across vintages. And with state-of-the-art winemaking facilities— including 56 temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks and expansive ageing cellars— it operates as one of the most technically advanced properties in Bordeaux.
'The nose has truffled aromas giving way to more fruity notes: cherry, black cherry, licorice and cedar notes. Evolution shows menthol notes. The attack is rich and vibrant. The midpalate is suave with a pleasant freshness, the whole presents a harmony and a rare elegance worthy of the greatest wines of Saint Julien.' Chateau-Lagrange

"Once again, the provocative words “the best ever made” appear in my tasting notes. In twenty-eight years, I have never tasted a Lagrange as impressive as this 2005. Its dense ruby/purple colour is accompanied by pure notes of creme de cassis, cedar, spice box, and a hint of cherries.
Full-bodied, powerful, and opulent, with high tannin and extract and great freshness, definition, and length.
This long-lived beauty should be at its finest between 2012 - 2030." 92-94pts, Robert Parker, Wine Advocate (Apr 2006)
