Nuno Mira do Ó is one of Portugal's foremost viticulturalists and winemakers, mostly making wines in the historic Dão region, as well as Alentejo, Bucelas, Bairrada and Monção in the Minho.
His widely lauded Druida wines hark back to the ancient Celtic druids, wise men and philosophers who sought spiritual equilibrium between man and nature, and it’s in a similar spirit that Nuno aims to make his wines. Grapes for these and Vidente are grown by Nuno Matos at Quinta da Turquide in Silgueiros at an altitude of 500 metres on granite-rich soils and subject to a large temperature shift because of the Serra do Caramulo from the west and Serra da Estrela from the south-east.
This is a delightfully enticing wine with wonderful salinity that keeps you going back for the next sip. Fresh, elegant, and vibrant, with bright citrus notes of lemon and lime, crisp stone fruit, a herbaceous quality and a distinct chalky, stony minerality with fine lees texture.
Pairs beautifully with grilled white fish, fresh seafood, and shellfish like prawns or scallops. It is also an excellent match for roasted chicken with fresh herbs and pairs wonderfully with a selection of soft or semi-soft goat and cow cheeses
