This second wine of Château Clerc Milon was first made in 2009, but not named or sold until 2015. An ideal introduction to Château Clerc Milon, Pastourelle de Clerc Milon is a more approachable wine, built on freshness, fruit and succulence while still asserting its Pauillac origins.

In a brilliant location, next to Lafite and Mouton, Clerc Milon is another château in the famed Mouton Rothschild trinity. Over the years, it has become a favourite of Robert Parker who often regards this château as "a must buy".

In the 18th Century, in the aftermath of the French Revolution, the Clerc family purchased this Estate adding the name Milon, the name of the Pauillac hamlet where it is situated. The Château was awarded 5th Growth classification in 1855. Today, it is his 3 grandchildren who manage it, revealing year after year all the potential of its exceptional terroir thanks to state-of-the-art technical facilities and great know-how.

Mirroring nature’s generosity in 2019, the wines are very rich, deeply coloured and with good alcohol content. Close-knit, satin-smooth tannins make this a very promising vintage.

The appealing and generous nose expresses succulent aromas of crushed red fruit, especially strawberry and redcurrant, enhanced with airing by notes of marzipan and vanilla pod.

From an attractively taut, smooth and flavourful attack, the mid-palate reveals crisp, perfectly mature and structured tannins. Flavours of cherry in alcohol mingle pleasantly with the juicy texture of slightly acidulated fruit, leading into a long and elegant finish with an underlying touch of dark chocolate.
