The history of Chilworth Manor spans a thousand years, and the 2018 ‘Alwyn’ Classic Cuvée is an homage to its long history, named after the first-known resident of the original Saxon manor. Despite its 11th-century origins, the current owners have brought Chilworth into the 21st century with the addition of the vineyard and a beautiful tasting room. Here you can listen to talks about the history of the estate, attend lectures, enjoy afternoon tea and even listen to opera!
Pale straw in colour, the wine has a lovely ripe fruit base to the palate with toasty brioche notes on the palate, leading into a long and well-balanced finish. Perfect as an apéritif though it can stand up to the main meal too.
