It is widely thought that without Peter Lehmann, the Barossa would have lost a large swathe of its old vines. The original Baron of the Barossa and a legend of Australian wine, he helped shape the industry over seven decades after starting his own winery in in 1979.
Their Hill & Valley Shiraz brings together the best of the fruit from the Adelaide Hills to the Eden Valley. On the nose, it's brimming with plums, raspberries and violets. The palate has good weight and structure to it, with lots of dark cherries and blackcurrant balanced by a roundness from the oak. Very much a food-friendly wine, pair with steak tartare or grilled meats.
