Chardonnay

The 2024 vintage was both challenging yet rewarding for winemakers in Burgundy. Mark Haisma's Sain-Romain blanc 'Le Jarron' showcases the potential for outstanding wine produced within these conditions.
An Australian winemaker celebrated for his wines of elegance and precision, Mark moved to Burgundy in 2007 after ten years at Yarra Yering. His wines are characterised by subtlety, freshness, and pure aromatics, reflecting the character of the vineyards he sources from; his approach to winemaking emphasises low intervention, allowing the wines to fully express their terroir.
16.5pts, Jancis Robinson: Negociant bottling. Tank sample. 'Transparent, filigree fruit that's obviously from a high site. Pure and well balanced with sufficient fruit. A little chalky-textured on the end. But it's a complete wine that should please those looking for intense refreshment rather than flattery. Drink 2026-2031'
