Jermann's story is one of vision and reinvention. Established in 1881 in Friuli's Collio region, the winery has built a reputation for crafting some of Italy's most refined white wines. The turning point came in the 1970s when Silvio Jermann introduced a new approach to Fruilian winemaking, culminating in the birth of Vintage Tunina in 1975. A masterful blend of international and indigenous grape varieties, Vintage Tunina has become a benchmark for elegant, age-worthy Italian whites.
This is a field blend where a selection is made of the best grapes which are gathered late, around two weeks after the normal harvest, from an area of around 16 hectares of vineyard cultivated on Ronco del Fortino. The name, Tunina, refers to the old owner of the land on which the original vineyard is located and it is dedicated to Casanova's poorest lover, who was a governess in Venice and who was also known as "Tunina" (Antonia).
The nose is intense, broad, very elegant and persistent with scents of honey and wild flowers. On the palate it is dry soft, well balanced with an extraordinary persistence due to its full bodied style. A great match for fresh salmon stuffed with parmesan cheese and artichokes.
