"Dos Dedos de Frente" in Spanish translates as "two fingers of forehead", implying that someone is very intelligent or has a lot of common sense. Winemaker Norrel Roberson MW produces most of his wines outside the local DO as he finds the old-fashioned rules governing the area restrictive and feels that he produces better wines without them. In the case of this particular wine the local officials allowed him to bend the rules and add Viognier - the name is a cheeky nod to the governing body that he normally clashes with!
The nose has savoury, meaty characters alongside black fruit and violet notes. It's rich and full-bodied with ripe black cherry fruit, black olive and floral hints. Well-integrated oak adds fine tannins and a touch of spice on the long finish.
