Clonakilty’s first Single Pot Still release marks an exciting new chapter for this coastal distillery in County Cork. First distilled in 2019 and awarded World’s Best Irish New Make just a year later, this whiskey has since matured into a refined, distinctly Irish expression of the style.
Made entirely from locally grown barley - both malted and unmalted - and triple distilled in copper pot stills, the whiskey is matured in a combination of ex-Bourbon, Amontillado and Oloroso sherry casks. The result is a balance of bright fruit, subtle sweetness, and gentle spice.
On the nose, there are layers of vanilla, demerara sugar and citrus peel. The palate is smooth and rounded, with flavours of poached pear, salted caramel, and orange chocolate, leading into almost a leathery finish.
