Pinot Noir
75cl * 14% ABV * Burgundy, France
Right on the border with Vosne Romanée this is amongst the weightiest Nuits-St-Georges 1er Cru with wonderful concentration.
2019 was a season of extreme temperatures and one of the hottest and sunniest on record which led to lower yields. However, whilst yields are low, the quality and concentration is outstanding, with wines of great character. This wine is vinified in open vats for 3 or 4 weeks and is then aged in oak barrels for 12 months.
Enjoy with the region's speciality 'oeufs en murette'.
Drink 2025-2039
"Cask sample. Mid to deep ruby. Textured nose somehow, with an almost powdery texture. A change of gear as we move from Côte de Beaune to Côte de Nuits. More savoury and less overtly sweet. Nicely managed tannins and a bit of a peacock’s tail on the end. The acidity is more evident than in the Côte de Beaune wines."16.5, Jancis Robinson, JancisRobinson.com 2020
