Alejandro Fernandez and his wife, Esperanza Rivera are responsible for putting Ribera del Duero back on the map as a premium wine producing region having bought their 16th Century winery 50 years ago. Hailed as "the Spanish Petrus" by Robert Parker, the wines remain the standard by which all other Ribera del Duero are measured.
Made from 100% Tempranillo with grapes from their own vineyards, the wine is aged for 18 months in oak before bottling. Elegant and fresh with balanced acidity and well integrated smooth tannins. Red berry fruit with hints of balsamic and sweet spice from the American oak barrels.
