Bedoba, which translates to 'Day of Luck', is a Georgian winery primarily dedicated to making wines from the country's indigenous grape varieties, partially vinified in traditional qvevri amphoras (ceramic eggshaped vessels).
The Rkatsiteli grapes for this orange wine were fermented in the qvevri amphoras using indigenous yeasts and once fermentation was completed, the qvevri were sealed and left to mature until March of the following year. At this point the wine was transferred to a new qveri for further ageing, with 10% moved to new oak barrels. The Kisi grapes were fermented in stainless stell tanks.
A fascinating and complex wine with flavours of dried apricots, orange peel and wild herbs. It has a beautifully rich texture and pairs wonderfully with spiced stews.
