Ferrari has been crafting some of Italy’s finest traditional method sparkling wines for over a century. Founded in 1902 by Giulio Ferrari, who trained in Champagne, the estate is now run by the Lunelli family and continues to uphold the same meticulous standards. Fruit is sourced both from Ferrari’s 100 hectares of certified organic vineyards and from 600 like-minded local growers, all committed to sustainability.

Their Maximum Blanc de Blancs is made entirely from Chardonnay sourced from the steep, high-altitude vineyards of the Dolomites. Where Franciacorta's appellation stops at 300m high, the grapes for this wine are grown up to 750 meters above sea level, which lends a distinctive freshness to the wine.

Following secondary fermentation in bottle, it is aged on its lees for 30–36 months - longer than most NV Franciacortas - developing a beautifully textured palate. There are aromas of ripe apple, subtle brioche, hazelnut, and a delicate, almost floral lift. On the palate, it is vibrant yet balanced, with layers of juicy fruit, gentle spice, and a long, clean finish.

It isn't difficult to see why this is celebrated as one of Italy’s finest sparkling wines - the house pour at Petersham Nurseries and a favourite on the F1 circuit. Enjoy it as an aperitif, or with oysters, seafood dishes, delicate fish, or creamy cheeses.
