From the producers of the iconic 'The Chocolate Block' comes 'Goldmine' - a white counterpart that captures the same richness, complexity, and generosity. Made from a blend of Swartland Chenin Blanc, Semillon, Chardonnay and a touch of Viognier, this wine shows the full diversity of the Cape, combining texture, brightness, and aromatic lift.
The wine was aged in a combination of French oak, concrete eggs and clay amphora, giving it texture and depth without sacrificing freshness. On the nose, expect vibrant aromas of quince, poached pear, and nectarine, complemented by a hint of baking spice, while the palate delivers juicy stone fruit, lively citrus, and a subtle salinity, with a long and textured finish. A versatile crowd-pleaser, this would pair beautifully with fresh seafood or lightly spiced dishes.
'A new addition to the consistently impressive Boekenhoutskloof range, this is a pan-regional blend of Swartland Chenin Blanc complemented by 24% Chardonnay, 19% Semillon and 4% Viognier from elsewhere. Inspired by the whites of the southern Rhône, it’s stony, savoury, and lightly wooded, with aromas of laurel, thyme, and white flowers, and a palate of pear, citrus, peach, and wet stones.' - 93 pts Tim Atkin MW, South Africa Report (2025)
