Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, Cinsault, Tibouren
75cl * Organic * 12.0% ABV * Île de Porquerolles, Provence, France
Domaine de l’Ile sits on the picturesque island of Porquerolles, just off the coast of Provence. The vines here benefit from complex island soils and fresh sea air, resulting in this quintessential Provence rosé. The estate is the latest winemaking venture from the Chanel group, which also owns top estates in Bordeaux and the Napa Valley.
This premium Provençal rosé blends typical southern French varieties Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvèdre with a touch of Cinsault and Tibouren to add a fresh-fruit softness and a touch of earthy, savoury complexity. Vibrant and moreish, we can see this rosé drinking very well over the next 12 months and beyond given its predisposition to aging.
"Rose pink, definitely darker than most Provence rosés. It certainly has the scent of the sea. And spreads right across the palate with a saline twist. Far more character than most of its peers. This would be great with fish and a wide range of summery Mediterranean dishes. Nice little bite on the end." 17/20 Jancis Robinson, jancisrobinson.com, May 2024
