Château Siaurac is a historic estate dating back to 1832, with a picturesque château set amidst landscaped grounds designed in 1850. It lies at the end of the Pomerol plateau in Néac, bordering the Barbane river. Its 46-hectare vineyard, currently transitioning towards organic viticulture, is planted on a mix of gravel, deep clay, and sandy-clay soils that lend depth and complexity. Grapes were harvested from mid-September to early October and the wine was aged for 14 months in a mix of oak barrels and vats.
The 2019 vintage opens with expressive aromas of black cherry, cassis, and red plum, with subtle floral notes and a touch of spice. On the palate, it shows generous fruit, supple tannins, and a fresh underlying energy that carries through to a long, elegant finish. Balanced and refined, it is a polished expression of Lalande-de-Pomerol that pairs beautifully with dishes such as wild mushroom risotto or herb-crusted lamb.
