Nebbiolo
75cl * 14% ABV * Langhe DOC, Piedmont, Italy
The Langhe Nebbiolo 'Occhetti' is produced at the historic Prunotto estate, owned by Marquis Antinori. It is situated in the heart of the Langhe DOC, which is a UNESCO World Heritage site.
The 2023 vintage is of a lower yield due to abundant rainfall early in the summer, followed by summer storms into July. Nevertheless, these conditions did not adversely affect the quality or ripening of the remaining fruit, and harvest took place from October 4th to the 14th. As with previous vintages, the wine was aged for approximately 16 months in French oak barriques before bottling.
The nose is fragrant and expressive, combining floral aromas of violets and roses with red fruit notes of raspberries and cherries. The palate is well-defined, with silky tannins and good acidity. On the finish, there is a hint of liquorice and a subtle minerality.
