The Marchese Antinori Chianti Classico Riserva DOCG is produced exclusively from grapes grown on the Tignanello estate. Nestled between the Greve and Pesa river valleys in the heart of Chianti Classico, the soils - a mix of marine marlstone, limestone, and schist - and the gently rolling hills provide ideal conditions for cultivating Sangiovese.
The 2021 growing season produced evenly ripened grapes with excellent concentration. Grapes were gently destemmed and crushed, fermented in stainless steel, and macerated to extract aromas and soften tannins, before aging for approximately one year in French and Hungarian oak barriques.
The wine displays a complex nose of ripe black and red cherries, wild berries, and delicate floral hints of violets and rose petals, layered with subtle vanilla, cocoa, and spice from oak aging. The palate is generous and structured, revealing lively acidity and soft, silky tannins that support flavours of dark cherry, plum, and a touch of baking spice, culminating in a long, persistent, and refined finish. Pair with roasted meats, mushroom risotto, or aged cheeses.
