Sangiovese
75cl * 13.5% ABV * Chianti Classico DOCG
The Pèppoli estate, located just northeast of Tenuta Tignanello, is renowned for its Chianti Classico, alongside its long history of producing extra virgin olive oil and red wine vinegar.
The 2023 growing season combined cool, rainy spring weather with a warm, dry summer, allowing for balanced ripening and a harvest that ran from September 12th through early October. The grapes were carefully fermented and macerated to preserve fresh fruit and floral aromas while extracting soft, refined tannins, then blended and aged in a combination of Slavonian oak barrels, barriques, and stainless-steel tanks.
On the nose, aromas of violet and lavender are layered over bright red fruits. The palate is lively and energetic, brimming with wild strawberries and raspberries. The wine is well structured, finishing with supple tannins. Pair with roasted meats, hearty pasta dishes, grilled vegetables, or aged cheeses.
