Pinot Grigio

75cl * 12.5% ABV * Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Italy

Jermann Pinot Grigio is a benchmark white from Friuli-Venezia Giulia, a region in Italy’s far northeast where Alpine freshness meets Adriatic influence. Produced from carefully selected Pinot Grigio grapes, it shows the variety at its most refined, with distinct structure and minerality.

The Jermann story began in 1881, when Anton Jermann left Austria for Friuli. Nearly a century later, his great-grandson Silvio transformed the winery. His work in the 1970s redefined Friulian whites, making wines like Vintage Tunina and W. Dreams into icons recognised around the world.

Today, the estate spans over 200 hectares in Collio and Isonzo, with vineyards rooted in ponca soils – ancient marl and sandstone that lend the wines their depth and minerality. In 2021, Marchesi Antinori acquired a majority share, further cementing Jermann’s role as one of Italy’s top producers.

The Pinot Grigio undergoes vinification in stainless steel to preserve its clarity and purity, followed by six months’ ageing on fine lees for added texture, and further bottle ageing before release. Aromas of ripe pear, green apple, citrus zest and floral notes are layered with subtle hints of almond. On the palate, it is dry and velvety, showing stone fruit, citrus peel and gentle spice. The finish is long, harmonious, and unmistakably Friulian.

This wine pairs beautifully with seafood - from delicate shellfish to richer fish such as sea bass - as well as risottos, creamy pasta and fresh cheeses. It also works as a refined aperitif, offering both freshness and depth in equal measure.
