Turbiana
75cl * 13% ABV * Veneto, Italy
The origins of the Ca dei Frati Estate date back to 1782, when a dwelling with a wine cellar near Sirmione, by the name of 'Frati', was first documented. Today, with the Dal Cero family at the helm, they are well-established as one of the top producers not only in the Lugana region, but across the entirety of Italy.
Within the Estate, the Turbiana grapes are all hand-harvested at perfect ripeness. To preserve the delicate flavours and intricate aromatics, the wine is matured in stainless steel vats only. Delicate and floral in the glass, it is brimming with white flowers, ripe peaches and apricots. On the palate, there is a richness and roundedness from the six months spent aging on fine lees. This is accompanied by more complex notes of lemon peel, almonds, sweet spice and minerality on the finish.
This wine is perfect for most fish dishes, or a creamy pasta or risotto.
