The Lafouge family have been involved with vineyards since the 17th century. Now the hands of Gilles Lafouge, they are producing wines over 10ha spread across the appellations of Auxey-Duresses, Meursault and Pommard.
Their Bourgogne Cote-D'Or Pinot Noir is showing bright, ripe red fruits of cherries and raspberries. There is good concentration and fresh acidity, with a hint of Burgundian earthiness on the finish.
Serve between 16-18 degrees. Pair with rich, earthy dishes like duck breast, beef bourguignon, coq au vin, or wild mushroom risotto. Aged cheeses like Comté, Brie de Meaux or Reblochon will would also go nicely.
