Part of the Exceptional Cask Selection series, this bottling is the first release from the Foursquare Distillery to contain rum matured in ex-Black Muscat casks. It is a blend of two aged Rums: a dual-maturation of a 5yo ex-bourbon cask with a further 9 years in an ex-Black Muscat cask, then blended with a 14yo ex-Bourbon cask matured rum.
There are notes of treacle tart and overripe nectarines on the nose, with hints of lemon zest and marzipan. The palate is smooth and enveloping, with caramelised peaches and plums, followed by a warm, gingery finish.
This rum is a 14-year pot and column blend, bottled at 61% ABV without chill filtration. Maturation, blending and bottling all occurs on-site at the Foursquare Distillery in Barbados.
