Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot Cabernet Franc & Petit Verdot

150cl * 13.5% Vol  * Bordeaux, France

A Patache were the carriages seen speeding up and down the Medoc in bygone times, transporting mainly the nobility, touring from one estate to the other (like the Chevalier d'Aux, the original owners of this estate) until the French relieved the nobility of their land titles, vineyards and heads in the revolution. The Patache here on the label is a nod to those ancient times and the three (now Four) families, three horses, that have owned the Chateau d'Aux estate.

This wine is a particular pleasurable one, meant to be consumed relatively young and fresh and full of fruit characteristics. Comprising a relatively high level of Cabernet Sauvignon in the blend there will be plenty of dark fruits, bramble, blackcurrant and blackberry and those lovely green pyrazine characters that Cabernet Sauvignon deliver. Their is a crisp freshness to the fruit and this backbone structure of crispness runs through the wine. Their a moderate tannic touch with delicate woody and spice notes too.

All around a very approachable Cru Bourgeois from an old and established domaine. Perfect for the big Sunday Roast with family and friends or even at the barbeque when we head back to warmer weather. This is entering its window of great drinking now.  A well made Bordeaux at a reasonable price. 'Bon Degustation!'
