Chardonnay
75cl * Vegan * 13.0% ABV * Burgundy, France
Ladoix, a village just north of Côte de Beaune, is perhaps one of the most exciting white wine appellations of Burgundy of the last 10 years. The Clou d'Orge vineyard - located on a soft slope of clay and limestone soil - produces chardonnay wines with far more structure and minerality than is typical of the region.
Aromas of pear and green apple are followed by fleshy stone fruits on the palette. Lush and juicy, cut through by racey acidity, and a nutty, stony complexity that expresses the terroir beautifully. Depth and roundness added by 18-months in oak.
Serve with grilled tuna or salmon, rabbit terrines, duck breast, steak tartare, roasted veal or any hard cheese. Drink now to 2034.
