Gamay
75cl * 12.5% ABV * Beaujolais, France
A lovely wine, made from a blend of eight terroirs in Moulin-A-Vent to showcase the various depths, alterations and exposures of these vineyards, all of which sit on pink granite soils. The fruit is picked and hand-sorted before 10 months of aging in a blend of concrete tanks and oak barrels.
The 2021 vintage was characterised by its charm: bright colours, delicate aromas and a good freshness. The fruit is elegant, and the tannins supple. Pair with white meats, oily fish and cheeses.
Drinking beautifully now, and will age gracefully over the next 5+ years
90 pts, James Suckling: 'This has so much immediate red berry charm plus a touch of sour cherry. A bit on the light and crisp side for this appellation, but there are some nice restrained tannins supporting the fruit and harmonizing the stony acidity. Very well crafted.'
