Gaëlle et Jerome Meunier began in 2005 in the villages of Mercurey and have since added further sites to their repertoire, establishing a reputation for high quality practises in the vineyard and in production. Their appellation level wine is greatly respected. In addition to these premium wines, they are making Bourgogne level red and white such as this, in which they maintain that same high quality practice. One way they do this is by blending the juices from several sites and using the grapes of young vines. This is a classy Chardonnay and classically Burgundian. There is a good rich apple character and fresh orange zest, a hint of oak and a balanced acidity to the wine.
