Vieux Telegraphe is name synonymous with quality Chateauneuf-du-Pape. But its story began on the La Crau, in the late 1800s. At the time La Crau was a plateau considered particularly unfit for cultivation, thanks in part to its thankless position and high density of pebbles. But as we all know poor soil can sometimes produce the best vines and the pebbles, certainly the bigger leant themselves to retaining the days heat into some of the cooler nights. Through hard dedication of the Brunier family, Vieux Telegraphe survived and thrived.

This classic GSM blend really brings its sense of place to the palate. The dark rich red and black fruits, mixed with a touch of spice and herbs, rough earth and delicious marzipan notes blended and balanced with good tannin and a solid acidity. This is a classic Chateauneuf-du-Pape and one that will be enjoyable now but will evolve with some aging in bottle.

A rack of herb-crusted lamb or a ratatouille will be deliciously paired with this wine.

94+Points, Jeb Dunnuck, 2021,' The 2019 Chateauneuf du Pape is ruby/ purple-hued and has the classic translucent colour of the domaine. It's more precise and focused that the Telegramme and will need more time , but it offers a complex, gorgeous bouquet of red and black fruits, crushed stone, wild fennel, and ground pepper. Pure, medium to full-bodied, and elegant, do your best to hide bottles for 5-7 years and it's going to keep for two decades.'
