The 'Cherubino' range from Larry Cherubino, celebrates and expresses the greatest parcels of land in the vineyards and the most dedicated of the wineries capability in winemaking. These wines represent the top 1% of Larry Cherubino's production and are the signature range, a sign of their best work.
Pemberton is increasing becoming a by-word in high-quality when talking about Western Australian white wines. Pemberton is a higher altitude region, affording a more temperate climate and has more rainfall, making it lush and green. However the soils are of red loams, which offer good nutrients but also good drainage. This means the wines get just the right amount of water to produce great quality, rich fruit.
The Pemberton Chardonnay 2022 is a rich, full-flavoured wine with generous fruit flavour characteristics and a well balanced fresh acidity. Fermentation took place in new and one year old French oak offering a delicate oak touch. Afterwards, the wine was on its lees for 8 months, which adds a roundness and complexity with slightly buttery characteristics. But there is a wonderful fruit character too, with grapefruit, nectarine, peach, greengage and honeysuckle. These beautiful flavours are accompanied by a super long finish.
This is a serious wine, exceptionally well made and seriously delicious. Only your favourite creamy dishes should be paired with this wine, like creamy chicken with forest mushrooms, a hearty clam chowder or even a room temperature Brie de Meaux.
