The Tedeschi estate dates back to the 17th century and have been farming this corner of the Veneto since the 1630s. Since the 20th century, the family name has been associated with top quality Valpolicella.

Since the early 60s, descendent Renzo Tedeschi had the fortunate idea of vinifying the grapes from the Monte Olmi vineyard separately, thus creating one of the very first single-vineyard wines in Valpolicella. Produced in the heart of Italy's Valpolicella Classica region, this wine is made from Corvina, Rondinella and Molinara grapes that are carefully hand-picked and sun-dried, before spending four years aging in Slavonian oak barrels and another 6 months of ageing in bottle before release.

A rich, powerful Amarone humming with dark berries, dried fruit and sweet spicy notes. Serve at 16-18°C and pair with red meat, game and cheeses, particularly aged cheeses. Try with some dark chocolate.

"The 2015 Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Riserva Capitel Monte Olmi takes things to another level. It coats the glass with a deep purple sheen while wafting up a dark and alluring bouquet of currants, raisins, black licorice and a lifting note of spiced citrus. There are depths of velvety texture here, offset by juicy acids and tart red fruits that saturate all they touch, leaving a complex coating of savory spices, minerals and fine tannins. This is structured, long, packed full of character, yet with a balance that will carry it for many years in the cellar. Wow." 94 points, Vinous (Feb 2021)

"A beam of minerally iron and tarry smoke pierces the rich flavors of steeped blackberry, ripe black cherry, candied violet and espresso crema, adding depth and range to this racy red. Like a gymnast, this offers power in a sleek frame, with fine integration of the sculpted tannins and mouthwatering acidity. Fragrant dried herb aromatics linger on the chalky finish. Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella and Oseleta." 94 points, Wine Spectator (2021)

"Dried-cherry, fruit-peel, leather and walnut aromas on the nose with some bark, too. It’s full-bodied and powerful with lingering, bittersweet chocolate, walnut and peppercorn notes. Fluid and attractive." 92 points James Suckling (Nov 2020)
