The de Bortolis have been making wine in Australia since the mid 1920s when Vittorio de Bortoli emigrated from the alpine foothills of northern Italy. Currently run by the third generation, this family-owned business goes from strength to strength making a range of highly accessible wines along with one of the most awarded wines in history. This 'house-style' red is a bright and lifted Shiraz with a wonderful perfumed dusty nose of dark fruit. The palate has a very silky mouthfeel with mulberry, blackberry and a hint of sour cherry. There is a touch of vanilla, as well as some freshness and an elegant finish.
