Released first in 1968, Laurent-Perrier Rose has gone on to become the best selling Rose Champagne in the world. Laurent-Perrier have been responsible for the rehabilitation of the rose style and have pioneered the category to become one of its most respected producers. Grapes are sorted twice, in effect - first in the vineyard and again at the press house to ensure that only the finest quality fruit makes it into the final wine. Grapes are pressed gently and their skins are kept in contact with the juice for a short amount of time to ensure a pale, delicate pink hue. Whilst Champagne is the only appellation in Europe that can make a rose by blending still red and white wine together, Laurent-Perrier defies convention and chooses not to.
Visually striking, shifting between pale raspberry to salmon-pink. Elegant and precise, a veritable summer fruit bowl of strawberries, redcurrants, raspberries and black cherries. Fruity, but supple and rounded on the finish. A refreshing aperitif, but also works well with poultry, red-fruit desserts and sashimi.
