Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier
75cl * 12% ABV * West Sussex, England
Nyetimber has forged a name for itself as one of the UK's most prestigious wine producers and one of England's best recognised sparkling wines. The West Sussex-based estate has a long and rich history: the property was first named in the Domesday Book in 1086 and was later gifted to Anne of Cleves following the annulment of her marriage to Henry VIII. In 1988, vines were planted.
Nyetimber is relatively unique in that it uses only estate-grown grapes from its own vineyards, rather than relying on contract fruit from other growers - this ensures a consistent and high-quality output year-on-year. The Classic Cuvee is the flagship wine and offers notes of honey, pastry and baked apples mingling with a pleasing toastiness. A fine accompaniment to smoked salmon or pan-fried scallops.
