"An Amphora" is a limited edition biodynamically-made wine, with just a single 320L amphora made of each varietal per year...and 2020 was an extremely good year. With a long, cool and largely dry autumn, a late harvest gives this wine a beautifully deep and saturated colour. Our total allocation of the Grüner Veltliner 2020 vintage is just 30 bottles.
Biodynamically produced from 40-year-old vines, this wine is made from grapes from a single vineyard named Reisberg, situated within the city limits of the Austrian capital Vienna.
Alongside a faint ceramic earthiness, the Grüner Veltliner 2020 has waxy satsuma and pithy grapefruit notes with real white pepper and fennel spice. Behind the richness and underneath the fruit there is a hint at a coarse texture, an extra dimension that gives this a broad-bodied feel – a stunning bottle.
