Someone, somewhere (probably renowned master distiller Richard Paterson) decided that what whisky needed was a touch of deliciously nutty sherry added to it. In this blend, over 30 whiskies are mixed together and matured in sherry butts in Scotland for three years. Then, much to most people's surprise, the whisky is shipped off to Jerez where it spends a year being finished off in Pedro Ximenez casks before being bottled. A true roaming nomad if ever there was one...
