The Cigar is a name coined by winemakers to describe a cigar-shaped strip of rich red terra rossa soil in Coonawarra. It is this, combined with the region's long, cool ripening season, that results in a rich, but structured and particularly herbaceous expression of Cabernet Sauvignon. Notes of plum, liquorice, violets and an edge of black olive tapenade complete this rich and supple wine. Best decanted and enjoyed with mushroom dishes or smoky lamb chops.
