Domaine Carneros is a Napa Valley estate founded by one of Champagne's most world-renowned houses – Taittinger. The Carneros wine region of California straddles both the Sonoma and Napa Valleys and Domaine Carneros encompasses five vineyards planted with a combination of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. The estate originated with Claude Taittinger's selection of a 138 acre (56 hectare) parcel of land in 1987. Since then, Domaine Carneros has set the standard for methóde traditionnelle sparkling wines in this region, producing excellent Champagne styles from Brut to Blanc de Blancs.
In 2003, Domaine Carneros installed a solar collection that was the largest of its kind in any winery in the world. In 2014, the estate became a Napa Green Certified Winery and in the following year gained accreditation from the Certified California Sustainable Winegrowing program, as well as being awarded Napa Green Certified Land status.
This wine’s richness and complexity begin on the nose, with bounding aromas of lemon zest, green apples, toasted almonds, and macadamia nuts. The palate is round and full, revealing poached pear, crisp apple, yuzu, honeydew melon, and pie crust with a toasty finish that lingers on the palate. Perfect with just a few toasted nuts or goat's cheese, it will also enhance complex meals, oysters and shellfish and salty, spicy Asian cuisine.
