This wine is the result of two Burgundians - Jacques Seyss of Domaine Dujac and Aubert de Villaine of Domaine de la Romanée-Conti - who with their good friend Michel Macaux were prospecting for vineyards in Provence, where they were convinced the potential for great wines was enormous. After a long search, they discovered the Domaine du Logis de Nans in the Var, north-east of Marseille. Pale pink in colour, this wine has a bouquet of strawberries and white flowers with hints of vanilla. It has the harmony and elegance that has earned worldwide appreciation of the rosés of Provence. Superb with an asparagus and linguine carbonara.

'This is the one for the British wine insider. Owned by a former director of Domaine Romanée-Conti in Burgundy (maker of some of the world's most valuable wines), this rosé has long been on the wine lists of every styling restaurant, from the Notting Hill 'local' Dorian to high-grade rural pubs like Margot Henderson's Three Horseshoes in Batcombe, Somerset. It's entry into the nice rosé league comes via discerning hospitality staff, who quietly down it after serving wine to charmless Whispering Angel-drinking punters every evening.' Kate Spicer for The Times, 'What does your Rosé say about you?'
