Nebbiolo
75cl * 14.5% ABV * Barolo, Italy
Cannubi is considered the Grand Cru of Barolo, an extraordinary wine in terms of style and elegance. The quality of the grapes from the Cannubi hill comes from the particular composition of the soil: a high percentage of sand (up to 45%) gives the grapes intense aromas of cherry, plum and tobacco. The vines are between 30 and 50 years old.
This wine has a beautiful garnet ruby red color with a rust-red rim. On the nose there's an enveloping perfume with fruity notes of cherry and plum and evolved hints of tobacco, licorice and cocoa.
Upon tasting, the palate is harmonious, with a pleasantly dry flavour, with soft tannins and sensations of body and fullness. It has a long, lingering finish and is perfect with full-flavoured Piedmontese-style dishes ie anything made with white truffle... or just roasted meat.
