Delavenne is a family-run independent house (Recoltant-Manipulant - RM) in the wonderfully-named village of Bouzy. Their RM status means that they own and work their land and only make wines from their own grapes. What's more all the wines are Grand Cru, low manipulation and vegan-friendly. We feel it's these lesser-known producers who are making some of the more interesting and better value wines, right now.
Bouzy Rouge is a rather rare non-sparkling, red wine from the Champagne region made from Pinot Noir - light and easy-drinking in style, it offers an aroma of red cherry, blackberry and hints of leather and spice. Best enjoyed with a slight chill with charcuterie or game dishes. 3000 bottles produced.
