75cl * 14% ABV * Mendoza, Argentina
This is a more linear, boney and mineral expression of Malbec than you might have tried before - but is no less delicious. The Chacayes appellatioin is found within the high altitude Uco Valley in Mendoza. Surrounded by the peaks of the Andes mountains, it is one of the coolest areas in the country. This really expresses its terroir: on the nose it displays fresh red fruit aromas laced with subtle aromatic herbs. On the palate, the fruit is caressed by a combination of spice and mineral structure. Firm tannins and a long finish add to the attractiveness and complexity of this wine. Serious, food-friendly Malbec, best drunk with braised beef or lamb casserole. Drink now until 2030.
