The Aussies may have been accused of being a little heavy-handed with their oak use in the past, but winemakers like Larry Cherubino have led the way and toned things down in order to allow the fruit to take centre stage. Ripe, round and peachy Chardonnay, showing streaks of citrus balanced by toastiness. Effortlessly proving that it is a rare thing for Australia to be beaten for value. Helmsmen, indeed.
