Picpoul de Pinet * 75cl * 12% ABV * Languedoc, France
Legend has it that poultry on the shore of Lake Thau enjoyed ripe Picpoul grapes – that’s how the name “Pique Poule” was born. The grape lost popularity due to its susceptibility to disease, but plantings are now on the rise. Picpoul is particularly appreciated for summer sipping, with its light body, high acidity and crisp finish. Its crunchy minerality makes it superb with seafood and white fish – especially when fried in breadcrumbs.
