Maintained by the Goring family (owners of the synonymous London hotel) since 1743, Wiston Estate was converted into a 16-acre vineyard on the south-facing chalk slopes of the Sussex South Downs in 2006. Those in the know won’t be surprised that Dermot Sugrue, cult English winemaker extraordinaire, is behind this top-quality pink sparkler. Soft and creamy, fragrant with red summer berries, it is surprisingly good with creamy cheese, such as Tunworth.
