Grenache, Syrah, Mourvedre
13.5% ABV * 150cl * Côtes du Rhône, France
The story goes that Michel Bernard’s vineyards should very much be included in the Châteauneuf-du-Pâpe classification, but for one reason or another they were left out. What you have here then is a serious wine masquerading as ‘basic’ Côtes du Rhône. But basic this is not, with its rich and smoky character. Ripe purple fruit gives way to black olive and dark chocolate notes, making this a real winter warmer. Drink to 2025.
