75cl * Porto, Portugal
Noval is one of the most important of the Port houses - it was given by the Marques de Pombal to the Rebello Valente family; made its reputation by declaring the 1931 vintage and was the first to introduce the Late Bottled Vintage into its library. Impressively inky, showing a gamut of damson, blackberry, raspberry, liquorice and fruitcake notes. On the palate, this is rounded and luscious with a gorgeous texture - far superior, in one critic's mind, than any of the other 2007s. Very appealing now, it will hold for at least 10 years.

This bottle is part of a wine cellar purchased from a highly respected Master of Wine (MW) with whom I have worked for many years and who is recognised as one of the world’s Italian wine experts. It has been stored in the MW’s own cellar or climate-controlled storage and I have every belief that it is in tip-top condition. However, as with all purchases of this nature there has to be an element of caveat emptor to proceedings – as such, we will not be able to offer refunds or returns on this item.
