Light gold in colour with copper highlights – a colour known in Italian as “romanto” – from the brief period of skin contact. This is intense, yet elegant, with fresh, inviting aromas of melon, white flowers and candied fruit that interplay with secondary notes of brioche, honey and flint that come from six months of lees aging. Bottled under high-quality screw-cap to retain freshness and aroma.
Aromas of orange blossom and white wisteria develop into ripe fruit notes of apricot and white peach on the palate. Long and elegant on the finish, which shows just a hint of pastry notes, this is probably one of the most serious Italian Pinot Grigios money can buy.
Ideally serve at around 12°C – 14°C, what we’d call ‘cellar temperature’. Perfect with griddled prawns, baked vegetables or risotto primavera.
