75cl * 13.0% ABV * Elgin, South Africa
Rich and voluptuous in style, with a deliciously zesty grapefruit and lemon curd character framed by judicious use of oak and a touch of minerality. Yes, this is unashamedly rich and has plenty of oak spice and texture (if that's your thing), but everything is nicely in balance: the grapes are cooled by Atlantic sea breezes and benefit from their relatively high location of the slopes of Elgin's cool-climate terroir. Like something from Burgundy with a bit more oomph. Pair with spiced roast chicken or barbecued fish dishes. What's more, the wine is a multi-award winner - the 2016 vintage bagged 96 Points (International Wine Challenge), 95 Points (Decanter) and 95 Points (Tim Atkin).
